Orientation Week

Getting the hang of some things around here. Driving on the opposite side of the street is a trip in it self. Haven't driven yet, but I can't wait to try! No internet/cable/phone at the apartment yet, but at least there's internet on campus. We have a few lectures some days this week for orientation just about getting used to and getting around on the island and campus. It's definitely exciting to be sitting in a classroom already!

We went on an island tour and got to experience some things on the island, as well as some island beer! I haven't been able to drink beer for about a year now, because of the ulcer, but I figured I'd try it anyway, and it went down nice and smooth!
This is my roommate, Sara, Caroline and myself standing in front of a fan palm tree on our tour of Battik (an amazing place with tons of local screen printing art!) enjoying some Carib, the most popular local beer here. The place mat is an example of the screen printing stuff that they do, my mom got me a set of 4!

This is the front of campus from across the street. As you can see, right on the water...making for some nice views to calm you down before a test!

My lovely family and I, hanging out, drinking, next to a cannon on a fort....with Nevis in the background!

And leaving you with a lovely sunrise view from our apartment. =)
